Drug Free Mindset Show

Today we are excited to have Blas from Modesto as our guest.

When was the first time you experienced drinking or drugs?

Was the day after high school and it was Crank. Didn’t like it at first and spit it out, but his friends said he was wasting it.

What became your drug of choice?

The first time he did crystal meth he knew it was going to mess him up.

What or who influenced you to start doing drugs?

His friends and he had family that did drugs as well.

What are some of the things you were doing while you were using?

He started selling meth and at first it was like a full time job but he remembers this time he got an ounce and didn’t sell any he did it all and made no money. He was very angry at people.

Did you ever Overdosed?

He never overdosed but he did have a stroke and they said it was from meth usage.

Did the drugs ever make you paranoid or did you ever hallucinate?

He did see demons smiling at him and he would talk to them and tell that God was going to save him

What was the price of you using drugs? With your friends, your family, other relationships? Did the addiction cost you everything?

Yes, he lost his family and he even lost the will to live.

What was the worst point or the turning point in your life, that you knew you needed help, and then you began to seek help?

He wanted to give up and end it all, even to the point of hanging a noose in his garage and was waiting for the right day. But he called his brother who already went through the Victory Outreach program and his brother prayed for him. His wife accused him of hitting her to the cops and he went to jail. She told the judge he had weapons of mass destruction and he had to stay in jail, where he started reading the Book of Proverbs. His friend had a heart attack and as he pumped her heart he heard the voice of God talking to him. She ended up dying. His brother ended up taking him to the home in Santa Rosa.

Now that you’ve recovered, what word of encouragement would you like to give someone who is struggling with addiction?

He wants to serve God because a lot of his family doesn’t know the Lord.

I would like to thank you for taking the time, to give us this interview. I’m sure, the people who listen to it, will be inspired and you have given them a bit of encouragement.

Thank you from the Drug Free Mind Set Team.
